Schwinn Stingray Apple Krate 5 speed 1968. This early Krate has the full floating saddle with rear sissy shocks and seat post 'pogo' shock. Early style seat is red imprinted on a silver sparkle vinyl. The best of the Krate handlebars, classic schwinn front springer fork, Atom drum brake, redline slik tire. No front fender refreshingly marks this year. This bike came from my hometown.

1998 Schwinn Reproduction Apple Krate coaster model. Fairly accurate Chinese copy. These seem to lack soul. I did not want one until I could not get them easily. This has been never ridden.

Excellent 1968 Schwinn Stingray Orange Krate. Very early Krate in nice shape. Pogo post and absent front fender marks the year. This bike came from one town away, from the original owner' attic. Mmmmm orange line slik...

Schwinn Stingray Orange Krate from 1969. Cool triple bend shifter, a switch to color seat with white striping, RWL tire and front fender make this a 69 model. This is my first schwinn bike as a collector. I agonized over spending $450 on a Childs bike. I found this in Ridgewood New Jersey bike shop while looking for Raleigh Choppers.

1998 Schwinn Stingray Orange Krate. New.

1971 Schwinn Stingray Grey Ghost. Not too popular due to the blandness of the silver mist paint, this model was made only 1 year. This frame number from November sports an added disc brake dated 1971 that was factory stock in 1972 and 1973 on the 5 speed Krates. Very heavy bike.

Schwinn Stingray Pea Picker 1971. Original paint. The pea was so hard to find in good condition that I paid an arm and 2 testicles to secure this one. I feel fortunate to have it. I must be nuts.
